Had high hopes coming here but was massively disappointed. First of all, the pub itself is in a beautiful area, the decor and building itself are really cosy and pleasant to be in. Unfortunately the food did not live up to the expectations at all. When paying £16/17 for a course, I’d expect proper homemade food however to me and my partner it seemed as if it was frozen oven food. The camembert was undercooked so the cheese wasn’t melted, the chicken burger and chicken duo were bland and seemingly straight from a freezer. It’s very disappointing to see such a nice pub be let down by such poor quality of food. Either consider lowering the prices to reflect the quality of the food or improve the food to reflect the prices. You could honestly have food just as nice at the Gold Medal up the road for half the price. The one redeeming factor is that the service we had was good and the location is lovely. Hope it improves in the future because there is certainly potential to be a brilliant place.

The Ravensworth is fairly local to us and we frequent the establishment on a regular basis. Today we had the kids for a Saturday afternoon visit.
Disappointing garlic bread as a side for the kids meal, which was just strips of bread fairly overcooked. The rest though was enjoyed.
I got the chicken burger and was disappointed with the size of the burger. It wasn't even the width of the burger bun! It didn't fill the bun or me and it was the first time I tried it as I normally get a mixed grill.
The Mrs got the chefs board which she said was nice, but I dont think she could handle the whole thing on her own.
Overall an average experience this time but we'll still be back as I know how good it can be.

Friendly pub with excellent food, staff are welcoming and attentive. Been served by Julie on our last few visits and she always looks after us well. Pub is also dog friendly

Didn’t stay so can’t comment on the rooms but the pub is great and the service we received from Julie today was exceptional. Good value pub food.

Had a meal last night as friends were staying there. The food was lovely but honestly it was our server, Julie, who made the night for us. Our little one was so tired and got upset and Julie brought her some ice cream and cookies which was such a lovely touch. Hadn’t been there for a while but will definitely be back soon!!

Our the years we have been regular visitors for evening meals and had no complaints. We hadn’t been for a while however so we decided to call in last night. We got a table no problem and ordered the burger and chips and Gammon steak and chips with two sweets.
Unfortunately the gammon was tough and barely warm and the chips with the burger weren’t much better. I returned the gammon meal and our Waitress Anya apologised. I have to say she was excellent. A new Gammon meal was brought to us, by wish time I’d finished my meal. Anya confirmed we would not be charged the full bill which was nice but I’m afraid it’s really out us off having a return visit. Anya was very nice and apologetic but hey the food was far than impressive I’m afraid. Such a shame it’s a lovely setting and place.

Excellent place to stay overnight on Saturday 1 February 2025. The room was very clean warm and cosy. We were served by Ellie snd Ross for out evening meal which was delicious and hot. Breakfast this morning was also superb. Would recommend a stay at this place without hesitation.

I have just stayed 3 nights in one of the front rooms. Firstly, the staff were so friendly! They all had a smile to say hello and were really helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect, it was a short walk into Kibblesworth. The room is pristine, quiet, and comfortable; I especially love the coffee bar/box. I had both breakfast and dinner, the food was great and cooked well. Definitely staying here again when I come back!

Booked a table for 5 family members for Burns Night. 4 courses for £28, including the famous haggis, neeps and tatties. Absolutely delicious. The staff were great and we didn't wait long for our first course. Wanted to do a Burns Night for ages. Pleased we did it and had such a great night.

We had sunday lunch today for 4 , it was appallingly, clearly frozen cold tiny roast potatoes a spoonful of swede, two soggy carrots , one soggy parsnip , no mash potatoes, a burnt bit of stuffing and equally black yorkshire - side of mushy brown cauliflower and the beef on the bone was burnt on the outside and mostly fat inside . We frequent here and find the food midweek normally fresh and good value so even more disappointing to find such poor standards and quality for sinday lunch …. catering for the masses comes to mind . I very rarely review … but it was so bad !
